Learning about the world eternal learner, endless dreamer

Who’s an author you always find yourself impressed by with every book they put out? For me, it’s Becky Chambers. And today, her latest novella, A Psalm for the Wild Built, is out in the world. Thanks @tordotcompub for the gifted copy.

Becky Chambers is one of those authors who are so in tune with their writing. Either you’re getting humor from her ragtag team of space explorers in The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet or filling you with hope in To Be Taught, If Fortunate. All her books do a little something different, but the themes are always similar: humanity is everything.

A Psalm for the Wild Built is no exception. I only started reading this one last night and I’m already immersed in the world Sibling Dex lives in. I loved seeing Dex fumble their first tea customer, but then not giving up on learning this interesting practice. They’re like a bartender at a bar, but more nomadic and with tea. The robot hasn’t shown up yet, but I’ve still got a lot of story to read.

I’ve got a full workday to get through, but I can’t wait to devour this one. Are you excited for this book? (at Orange County, California)
